
Insurance Regulatory Authority
The Insurance Regulatory Authority is hiring a Manager, Supervision (Intermediaries) responsible for coordinating the supervision of insurance intermediaries and service providers on an ongoing basis to ensure effective risk management and protection of policyholders’ and insurance beneficiaries’ interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- – Coordinate the formulation and implementation of minimum requirements for supervision of intermediaries
- – Formulate strategies and programs for supervision of insurance intermediaries and service providers
- – Coordinate off-site supervision, on-site supervision, and analysis of intermediaries’ and service providers’ returns
- – Monitor and enforce penalties, restrictions, directives, inspection/investigation recommendations, offsite surveillance, and market conduct requirements as per the Insurance Act
- – Coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of policy guidelines, regulations, and Insurance Act amendments for industry supervision
- – Coordinate and monitor implementation of AML/CFT Act by the insurance industry
- – Manage impacts of regional and international supervision practices and trends
- – Develop, update, and implement a risk profiling framework for proactive intervention and industry stability
- – Develop, execute, and control the section’s work plan, budget, and procurement plan
- – Provide leadership and strategic direction to staff in achieving departmental goals
Requirements:
- – Master’s degree in Statistics, Insurance, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Law, Business Administration, Commerce, or equivalent
- – Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration
- – KCSE B or equivalent
- – Professional qualifications in Insurance or Accounting (ACII/AIIK/FLMI/CPA)
- – Nine (9) years of relevant experience
- – Registered member of a recognized professional body in Kenya
- – Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks
- – Meet provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution
