KCB Foundation is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Fundraising to lead their philanthropic growth across East and Central Africa. This pivotal leadership role will drive fundraising efforts to support the Foundation’s impactful employment and education programs in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Development:

  •    – Identify and prioritize high-impact programs aligned with strategic objectives
  •    – Develop compelling funding proposals with internal and external stakeholders

2. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  •    – Cultivate relationships with individual donors, corporations, and foundations
  •    – Engage donors through personalized communications and events
  •    – Manage funding pipeline and opportunity information systems

3. Fundraising Campaigns:

  •    – Lead planning, execution, and evaluation of various fundraising campaigns
  •    – Collaborate on developing engaging donor messaging and materials

4. Grant Writing and Management:

  •    – Oversee grant writing process and ensure alignment with programmatic goals
  •    – Manage grant reporting and funder compliance

5. Strategic Planning:

  •    – Develop and implement regional fundraising strategies
  •    – Identify new fundraising opportunities and trends
  •    – Conduct regular assessments of fundraising performance

6. Team Leadership and Capacity Building:

  •    – Lead institutional resource mobilization efforts across KCB Foundation
  •    – Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence
  •    – Provide technical training on resource mobilization and proposal writing

7. Compliance and Reporting:

  •    – Ensure adherence to fundraising regulations and best practices
  •    – Prepare accurate reports on fundraising activities and outcomes

8. Representation:

  •    – Cultivate relationships with strategic funders and stakeholders
  •    – Promote KCB Foundation’s work at events and to external stakeholders

Requirements:

  • – Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university
  • – Minimum 8 years’ experience in Donor Fundraising
  • – Minimum 8 years’ experience in Proposal, concept note, and idea note development
  • – Minimum 5 years’ experience in Program development
  • – Minimum 4 years’ experience in Partnership management
  • – Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
  • – Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • – In-depth knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends
  • – Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns
  • – Experience working in East and Central Africa preferred
