Audit Manager – Model Risks

Equity Bank is seeking an Audit Manager specializing in Model Risks to join their team. This role is crucial in providing assurance over model risks and evaluating the effectiveness of model governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Model Risk Audit Planning and Execution

•    – Develop and execute annual internal audit plans for model risks
•    – Conduct audits of risk management, pricing, and decision-making models
•    – Evaluate model governance effectiveness
•    – Assess data input accuracy and reliability
•    – Perform technical testing, including validation and stress testing

2. Audit Reporting and Documentation

•    – Prepare comprehensive audit reports with findings and recommendations
•    – Document audit procedures and evidence
•    – Collaborate with stakeholders to validate findings

3. Risk Assessment and Advisory

•    – Analyze potential impacts of identified risks
•    – Provide recommendations for risk mitigation
•    – Contribute to model risk advisory projects

4. Continuous Learning and Development

•    – Stay updated on emerging model risk management practices
•    – Participate in professional development opportunities
•    – Contribute to improving audit methodologies

5. Stakeholder Management and Mentorship

•    – Collaborate with model developers and risk management teams

– Provide guidance to junior auditors

Requirements:

• – Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, economics)
• – Advanced degree preferred
• – Professional certification (e.g., Certified Model Risk Manager)
• – Minimum 5 years experience in model risk auditing or risk management
• – Strong understanding of model governance frameworks and regulations
• – Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools
• – Excellent analytical and communication skills
• – Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
