Job Summary:

UN Women is looking for a skilled Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation services for the Regional Director, Deputy Regional Director, and other high-ranking UN officials and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate discretion, integrity, and excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide Reliable and Secure Driving Services

  • – Transport UN Women officials, staff, and visitors
  • – Facilitate VIP missions and airport pickups
  • – Deliver and collect mail, documents, and other items
  • – Ensure compliance with safety regulations and Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS)
  • – Adhere to UN Women policies and guidelines, including the vehicle management policy

2. Vehicle Maintenance and Management

  • – Maintain daily vehicle logs, mileage, gas consumption, and service records
  • – Perform minor repairs and arrange major repairs
  • – Ensure vehicles are clean and in good working condition
  • – Change oil, check tires, lights, horn, clutch, and brakes regularly
  • – Prepare and maintain vehicle maintenance plans and reports

3. Administrative and Logistic Support

  • – Assist office staff with filing, photocopying, and maintaining records
  • – Support mailing and distribution of publications
  • – Help with payment of bills as required

4. Document and Supply Management

  • – Maintain and ensure availability of all required documents and supplies in vehicles
  • – Keep vehicle insurance, logs, office directory, maps, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts up to date

Requirements:

  • – Secondary education completion
  • – Valid driver’s license
  • – At least 3 years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system
  • – Excellent driving skills and knowledge of local roads and conditions
  • – Strong defensive driving skills
  • – Basic vehicle repair skills
  • – Experience with administrative support services
  • – Fluency in English (knowledge of another UN official language is desirable)
