Amref Health Africa

Amref Health Africa is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Partnerships Intern to join their dynamic fundraising team at their headquarters. This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international development and public health partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Support (25%):

  • – Assist in writing and editing proposals, concept notes, and reports
  • – Take detailed notes during internal and external meetings

2. Business Analysis & Partner Prospecting (50%):

  • – Conduct market research on potential partner organizations
  • – Identify and track funding opportunities
  • – Build a pipeline of corporate and foundation donor prospects
  • – Craft compelling introductory messages for potential donors
  • – Research relevant industry events for networking opportunities
  • – Explore partnership expansion opportunities

3. Knowledge Management (25%):

  • – Create profiles of foundation and corporate donors
  • – Support the development and analysis of partner surveys
  • – Research and report on current public health trends in Africa

Requirements:

Education:

  1. – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (pursuing or recently completed) in International Development, Public Health, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or Political Science
  • – Relevant coursework in grant writing, research methods, or nonprofit management is a plus

Skills:

  • – Strong research and analytical skills
  • – Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • – Proficiency in information management and CRM systems
  • – Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • – Business acumen for identifying partnership opportunities
  • – Team collaboration and adaptability

Additional Qualifications:

  • – Knowledge of donor trends in international development
  • – Interest in public health and development in Africa
  • – Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • – Problem-solving skills and ability to provide research-based recommendations
