Job Purpose:
The Audit Manager – Cybersecurity Audits will be responsible for conducting comprehensive cybersecurity audits and assessments across Equity Bank Group. This role is crucial in evaluating the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls, identifying potential risks, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance the organization’s overall security posture. The position plays a vital part in ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and industry standards, thereby protecting Equity Bank’s mission-critical data and systems.
Reports to: Senior Manager – Cybersecurity Audits
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cybersecurity Audit Execution:
- – Lead the planning and execution of cybersecurity audits across Equity Bank Group
- – Conduct complex cybersecurity audits focusing on access management, network security, data protection, and incident response
- – Evaluate cybersecurity controls against internal policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
- – Perform technical testing, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- – Collaborate with other audit teams for integrated audits and advisory assignments
2. Audit Reporting and Documentation:
- – Prepare comprehensive audit reports detailing findings, risks, and remediation recommendations
- – Maintain meticulous documentation of audit procedures, evidence, and working papers
- – Collaborate with stakeholders to validate findings and ensure accurate reporting
- – Develop executive summaries and presentations for senior management
3. Risk Assessment and Recommendations:
- – Analyze the potential impact of identified risks on Equity Bank’s operations and cybersecurity posture
- – Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance cybersecurity controls
- – Assist in developing and implementing remediation plans
- – Contribute expertise to cybersecurity advisory projects and assessments
4. Continuous Learning and Development:
- – Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, regulatory changes, and industry best practices
- – Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- – Contribute to the improvement of audit methodologies within the team
- – Attend relevant conferences and workshops to represent Equity Bank in the cybersecurity community
5. Stakeholder Management and Mentorship:
- – Collaborate effectively with cybersecurity teams, IT departments, and business units
- – Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate smooth audit processes
- – Provide guidance and mentorship to junior auditors and team members
- – Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance the team’s overall cybersecurity expertise
6. Strategic Input and Innovation:
- – Contribute to the development of Equity Bank’s long-term cybersecurity strategy
- – Identify innovative approaches to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cybersecurity audits
- – Propose and implement new tools and technologies to improve audit processes
- – Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at strengthening the organization’s overall security posture
Requirements:
- – Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field from a recognized university
- – Professional certifications: CISA, CISM, and a cybersecurity testing certification (OSCP, CCIE Security, or equivalent)
- – Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity auditing, IT audit, or risk management
- – At least 3 years of hands-on experience in conducting cybersecurity reviews, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments
- – Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS)
- – Proficiency in using penetration testing and security assessment tools
- – Familiarity with auditing tools, techniques, and methodologies, including data analytics
- – Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- – Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- – Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with cross-functional stakeholders
- – Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- – High integrity and strength of character
Competencies:
- – Demonstrated experience in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises against applications, networks, and systems
- – In-depth knowledge of financial industry-specific cybersecurity challenges and regulations
