Job Overview:
As a Bancassurance Sales Representative at KCB Bank, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day insurance business at assigned branches, driving sales of both insurance and retail products, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role is crucial in achieving sales targets and maintaining strong customer relationships while contributing to KCB’s growth in the bancassurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Target Achievement:
- – Meet or exceed sales targets for insurance and retail products as per provided budgets
- – Identify and fulfill customer needs through effective selling and cross-selling of General and Life insurance products
- – Monitor personal sales performance daily, weekly, and monthly, providing regular updates to Sales Managers
- – Maintain a customer retention ratio of at least 85%
- – Drive the Life Partnership and ensure that set sales budgets are met
2. Customer Service and Relationship Management:
- – Deliver quick, seamless, and efficient service to KCB Bank customers
- – Own and resolve customer queries and complaints related to insurance products promptly
- – Escalate unresolved issues to the Line Manager or Head Office Bancassurance team as needed
- – Assist clients with claim submissions, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate
- – Provide timely feedback to clients on claim status and resolution
3. Product Knowledge and Training:
- – Conduct branch staff training on KCB’s Bancassurance products
- – Stay updated on all insurance and retail product offerings from KCB and partner insurance companies
- – Provide comprehensive product information to customers, helping them make informed decisions
4. Documentation and Compliance:
- – Ensure accuracy and quality of all applications and supporting documents
- – Adhere to KCB Group’s policies and procedures in daily business operations
- – Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements in the insurance and banking sectors
- – Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information
5. Premium Collection and Financial Management:
- – Collect premiums strictly according to KCB’s credit control policy
- – Monitor and report on premium collection status regularly
- – Assist in reducing premium defaults and policy lapses
6. Reporting and Analysis:
- – Provide pipeline data as requested by management
- – Analyze sales performance and customer trends to identify growth opportunities
- – Contribute to the development of sales strategies and product improvements
Requirements:
1. Education:
- – Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Marketing, or a Business-related field from a recognized higher learning institution
- – Professional certification or diploma in Insurance (added advantage)
- – Master’s degree in a relevant field (added advantage)
2. Experience:
- – Minimum one (1) year experience in Bancassurance, General, or Life Insurance sales
- – At least six (6) months experience in a customer-facing role or relationship management
- – Familiarity with the Kenyan insurance market and regulatory environment
3. Skills and Qualities:
- – In-depth knowledge of insurance products and financial services
- – Strong sales and negotiation skills
- – Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- – Proficiency in MS Office suite and CRM systems
- – Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- – Results-oriented with a strong work ethic
- – Adaptability and willingness to learn new products and technologies
- – Fluency in English and Swahili (additional local languages are an advantage)
4. Additional Requirements:
- – Valid Kenyan driver’s license and willingness to travel to assigned branches
- – Flexibility to work extended hours when required
