Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join their team in Nairobi, Kenya. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to play a crucial role in ensuring tax compliance and optimizing tax strategies for the largest African Coca-Cola bottler.

CCBA is a market leader in the non-alcoholic ready-to-drink (NARTD) sector in Africa, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. With an extensive footprint across Africa, CCBA employs approximately 14,000 people, including over 2,000 in Kenya alone.
Key Purpose:
The Tax Manager will be entrusted with ensuring compliance with tax regulations and optimizing tax strategies within the organization. This role is critical in maintaining CCBA’s financial integrity and supporting its continued growth in the Kenyan market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance Management:
- – Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, ensuring adherence to local tax laws and regulations
- – Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax filings and disclosures
- – Implement CCBA tax strategies in Kenya
- – Drive standardization of tax-related processes
- – Conduct monthly tax trend analyses and implement optimization plans
- – Secure tax clearances for bank loans and license renewals
- – Collaborate with tax office disposal team for expired product disposal
- – Maintain up-to-date iTax records
- – Review and approve quarterly instalment taxes
2. Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- – Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including tax authorities and external auditors
- – Serve as primary liaison for tax-related matters
- – Provide guidance to business leaders on tax queries
3. Tax Audit Oversight:
- – Lead and facilitate tax audits conducted by local authorities and internal teams
- – Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants during audit processes
- – Verify and query tax assessments, filing objections when necessary
4. Tax Planning and Advisory:
- – Provide strategic input on tax matters to the Group tax function
- – Review tax implications of key contracts and business transactions
- – Contribute to the development of tax planning strategies
5. Tax Reporting and Analysis:
- – Manage reporting processes and adhere to group and regulatory deadlines
- – Generate monthly tax exposure reports and cash tax reports
- – Oversee transfer pricing documentation and reporting
- – Prepare tax provisions, estimates, and disclosures for financial reporting
- – Oversee annual business income tax and deferred tax computations
- – Ensure timely reconciliation of tax GL accounts
- – Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities
6. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- – Implement robust internal tax controls
- – Conduct periodic health checks and implement corrective actions
- – Ensure compliance with RACM requirements on taxation
7. Tax Policy Adherence:
- – Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations
- – Advise management on compliance requirements and potential business impacts
Requirements:
Education:
- – First Degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance
- – Membership in ICPAK (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya)
Experience:
- – Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in tax functions
- – At least 2 years in tax-related managerial roles
- – Experience in corporate organizations or international audit firms preferred

- – In-depth knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and regulations
- – Strong internal audit and tax control skills
