Position Overview:
The Assistant Reporting Accountant will play a crucial role in the preparation of financial reports and the compilation of analytical insights to support informed decision-making. This position is integral to advancing the company’s automation agenda through the creation and testing of Power BI reports.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- – Collaborate closely with the reporting team to support audits and prepare Audited Financial Statements
- – Update investment schedules, create investment journals, and post them in the finance system
- – Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
- – Prepare branch profitability reports and provide actionable insights to branch managers
2. Data Visualization and Automation:
- – Support the finance reporting team in building and testing Power BI reports
- – Contribute to the company’s automation initiatives by leveraging data visualization tools
3. Financial Integrity and Compliance:
- – Work closely with the finance team to maintain the integrity of general ledgers through balance sheet substantiation
- – Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
4. Performance Analysis:
- – Support biweekly claims performance analysis and present findings to the business
- – Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial health and operational efficiency
Requirements:
- – Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field
- – Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial reporting, preferably in the insurance industry
- – Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- – Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- – Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus
- – Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial calculations
- – Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
