Position Overview
The SAHL Banker will play a crucial role in expanding KCB’s Islamic banking portfolio through relationship management, sales excellence, and adherence to Shariah principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Islamic banking in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- – Drive growth in both Assets and Liabilities within the SAHL banking segment
- – Achieve designated sales targets for Islamic banking products
- – Develop and execute strategies for portfolio expansion
- – Lead cross-selling initiatives for SAHL products
Relationship Management
- – Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential SAHL customers
- – Provide expert guidance on Islamic banking products and services
- – Ensure superior customer service delivery
- – Handle and resolve customer complaints effectively
Risk Management
- – Maintain Portfolio At Risk (PAR) below 5%
- – Ensure compliance with Shariah principles and regulatory requirements
- – Conduct thorough credit analysis for loan applications
- – Verify accuracy of customer documentation
Operational Excellence
- – Process customer applications within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- – Monitor service delivery standards
- – Lead SAHL product campaigns
- – Provide mentorship to sales team members
Required Qualifications
Education and Certification
- – University degree from a recognized institution
- – Professional qualification in Shariah/Islamic Banking (added advantage)
Experience
- – Minimum 4 years total banking experience including:
- – 2 years in Shariah Banking
- – 2 years in Sales
- – 2 years in Customer Service/Relationship Management
- – 2 years in Credit Analysis (preferred)
- – Proven track record of high performance in previous roles
Professional Skills
- – In-depth knowledge of banking products and solutions
- – Strong analytical and credit assessment abilities
- – Excellence in communication and presentation
- – Leadership and team management capabilities
- – Understanding of Shariah compliance in banking
