Position: Sales and Collections Intern
Duration: One month
Location: Various branches within Kenya
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Compensation: Monthly stipend provided

Internship Overview:
As a Sales and Collections Intern at 4G Capital, you will play a crucial role in supporting the company’s mission to empower small businesses and entrepreneurs. Working closely with experienced Loans Officers and Collections Officers, you’ll gain valuable insights into the microfinance industry while contributing to the company’s growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Customer Service:
- – Collaborate with Loans Officers to meet demanding sales targets
- – Deliver exceptional customer service to small business and entrepreneur clients
- – Build and maintain excellent relationships with customer-partners and opinion leaders in the catchment area
- – Assist in accurate and timely reporting of Management Information and market feedback
- – Identify and report on customer preferences, trends, and market opportunities
2. Collections and Debt Management:
- – Work alongside Collections Officers to achieve branch targets
- – Assist in contacting debtors to receive payments
- – Follow up with defaulters to recover overdue amounts
- – Help maintain accurate and comprehensive Debt Management Forms
- – Support the renegotiation of payment schedules when necessary
- – Participate in spoof calling initiatives
3. Customer Education and Relationship Management:
- – Conduct customer education sessions to improve financial literacy
- – Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients
- – Assist in forwarding defaulter files to HQ collectors as required
4. Operational Support:
- – Contribute to maintaining an excellent work environment
- – Support branch operations and general tasks as needed
- – Ensure timely communication with customers and all stakeholders
Requirements:
Education:
- – Diploma or degree from a recognized institution
- – Educational background in Sales/Marketing is preferred
Skills and Attributes:
- – Computer literacy and proficiency in basic software applications
- – Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- – High motivation and self-starter attitude
- – Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- – Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
- – Process discipline and ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- – Integrity and commitment to ethical business practices
Preferred Experience:
- – Prior experience in a related field (sales, marketing, or customer service)
- – Experience in a financial institution, particularly dealing with customers at the bottom of the pyramid, is an advantage
