Adili Solar Hubs is seeking an experienced Accountant/Finance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will oversee all financial activities related to the Lake Turkana-Kakuma Fish Value Chain project and other company operations. This role requires strong financial management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- – Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and petty cash management.
- – Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals in accordance with established accounting principles and standards.
- – Assist in the development and monitoring of project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure effective resource allocation and cost control.
- – Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, vendor accounts, and other financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- – Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review, highlighting key financial performance indicators, variances, and trends.
- – Assist in the preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory filings in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- – Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities as needed to facilitate audits, reviews, and compliance assessments.
- – Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making, risk management, and strategic planning initiatives.
- – Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- – Support procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and purchase order management, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- – Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information and uphold ethical standards in all financial activities.
Qualifications:
- – Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- – Professional certification such as CPA (K) or ACCA is preferred.
- – Proven experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably in project accounting or financial management.
- – Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- – Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- – Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- – Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- – Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- – Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- – Experience working in the NGO or development sector is an advantage.
- – Familiarity with the fish value chain or agricultural projects is desirable.
