Key Responsibilities
As an Accounts Payable Executive, you will report to the Finance Manager and play a vital role in the smooth operation of the finance department. Your duties will include:
- Month-End Closure: Prepare journals, reconcile ledgers such as advances, accrued salaries, and sales incentives.
- Cash Management: Verify daily cash deposits, resolve discrepancies, and ensure prompt bank deposits.
- Reconciliation: Match cash receipts with the PMS system, prepare daily GC reports, and secure managerial approvals.
- Float Management: Issue monetary changes, maintain adequate float levels, and conduct periodic audits.
- Expense Disbursement: Handle petty expenses in line with hotel policies.
- Audit Participation: Assist with hotel float audits and report discrepancies to the Director of Finance (DOF).
- Cashier Training: Support and train cashiers in cash handling procedures.
- Compliance: Adhere to guidelines for cash handling, currency exchange, and cheque encashment.
- Professionalism: Reflect the high standards of the Fairmont brand in all interactions.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager or Chief Director of Finance.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A graduate degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Previous experience in finance, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) and accounting software (advantageous).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in guest and payment dispute scenarios.
