Job Overview:

Reporting to the Reception In Charge, the Admission/Authorisation Clerk will manage the patient admission process, ensuring timely, professional, and compassionate service while handling all pre-admission related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Welcome and assist patients with registration and pre-admission procedures

2. Process pre-admissions from physicians, pre-paid accounts, insurance, and direct accounts

3. Provide accurate information on admission fees, insurance policies, and hospital procedures

4. Explain hospital policies, patient rights, and regulations to clients

5. Ensure client satisfaction through quality service and effective communication

6. Secure payments by verifying insurance information and obtaining necessary approvals

7. Prepare admission folders and manage patient placements

8. Adhere to Avenue Healthcare’s corporate governance policies

9. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and systems

10. Manage patient data and records effectively

11. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor


  • – Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • – Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital setting
  • – Strong customer focus and results-oriented approach
  • – Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-playing abilities
  • – High level of responsiveness, ethics, and responsibility

Additional Skills:

  • – Proficiency in hospital management software
  • – Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures
  • – Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • – Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
