Public Service Superannuation Fund
The Public Service Superannuation Fund (PSSF) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager for their Internal Audit Department. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join one of Kenya’s leading pension funds and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of financial governance.
Position Overview
The Assistant Manager, Internal Audit will play a crucial role in overseeing internal audit functions and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position reports directly to the Head of Internal Audit and works closely with the Board’s Audit Committee.
Key Responsibilities
- – Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive Annual Audit Plans
- – Prepare and present detailed board papers on Internal Audit activities
- – Oversee and review the execution of individual audit assignments to ensure quality and compliance
- – Draft and review final audit reports, including preparing executive summaries
- – Lead audit entry and exit meetings with various departments
- – Manage the preparation of critical documentation for the Internal Audit and Board Compliance Committee
- – Conduct special audit investigations as required
- – Develop detailed audit programs and planning memorandums
- – Interpret Fund policies to ensure sound audit planning and execution
- – Mentor and guide junior audit team members
Educational Requirements
Master’s Degree in any of the following fields:
- – Finance
- – Economics
- – Statistics
- – Project Management
- – Business Administration
- – Or related field from a recognized institution
- – Bachelor’s Degree in any of the above fields (mandatory)
Professional Qualifications
- – Active membership in good standing with relevant professional bodies such as:
- – CIA (Certified Internal Auditor)
- – CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
- – ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
- – CPA(K) (Certified Public Accountant – Kenya)
- – Or equivalent professional certification
- – Leadership course certificate (minimum four weeks) from a recognized institution
Experience Requirements
- – Minimum twelve (12) years of relevant work experience
- – At least five (5) years in a management position within public or private sector
- – Demonstrated track record of successful audit project management
- – Experience in pension fund auditing is an added advantage
Technical Skills & Requirements
- – Advanced proficiency in computer applications and audit software
- – Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- – Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- – Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution
- – Proven track record of exceptional work performance and results
