British American Tobacco (BAT) Kenya is seeking two dynamic and experienced professionals to join their team as Commercial Finance Managers – Operations. Role Overview:
The Commercial Finance Manager – Operations plays a crucial role in supporting the ESA Finance team and owning the end-to-end record to report process. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing quality planning and reporting activities, managing controls and risks, and providing performance management and commercial support to the Operations function.
Key Responsibilities:
- – Business partnering: Provide insights on financial performance, including cost of goods sold, manufacturing costs, working capital, CAPEX, profit, and cash flows
- – BPC reporting: Manage monthly target alignment and commentary submissions
- – Prepare financial packs for various leadership meetings and presentations
- – Ensure accurate financial information delivery in line with group accounting principles
- – Implement and maintain Operations financial controls at the end market level
- – Support internal and external audits within the job holder’s responsibility
- – Provide training and support to budget holders and internal stakeholders
- – Coordinate and analyze financial accounts for ESA to monitor ongoing performance
- – Proactively monitor key accounts to improve the company’s working capital
- – Manage and mentor the Commercial Finance team in ESA
- – Lead the compilation of ESA’s company plan and provide insights to the Leadership team
- – Optimize SAP and BPC capabilities to improve productivity and efficiency
- – Review and benchmark processes against other BAT entities to enhance performance
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- – Qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, ICEAW) with at least 7 years of progressive experience in Financial Reporting and Planning
- – Experience with SAP (enterprise system) is an added advantage
- – Strong team player with excellent collaboration and coordination skills
- – Commercial acumen with the ability to identify and drive business-focused initiatives
- – Excellent people management and analytical skills
- – Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- – Strong communication skills for liaising with Heads of Finance, Operations, and GBS teams
