Position: Check-Off Assistant

Job Overview:

The Check-Off Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring premium collection, managing arrears, and expanding check-off markets. This position is instrumental in achieving company revenue targets while fostering strong relationships with new and existing sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Expansion and Client Relations:

  •    – Identify, negotiate, and establish new check-off accounts with corporations, ministries, and other institutions
  •    – Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and key stakeholders
  •    – Organize and conduct promotions and worksite events to boost check-off business

2. Premium Collection and Management:

  •    – Visit pay points to collect cheques within required timeframes
  •    – Ensure prompt payment of premiums from check-off arrangements
  •    – Follow up on delayed payments and take appropriate action to ensure timely collection

3. Training and Support:

  •    – Train agents on check-off procedures and processes
  •    – Provide guidance and support to team members on check-off related matters

4. Market Intelligence and Reporting:

  •    – Gather and analyze market intelligence on premium growth trends
  •    – Prepare and submit regular reports on check-off performance and market insights

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  •    – Ensure accurate completion of Premium Deduction Authority Forms
  •    – Verify and rectify erroneous remittances and misdirected premiums
  •    – Address queries from employers regarding deduction authorizations

6. Process Improvement:

  •    – Identify areas for improvement in check-off procedures and suggest enhancements
  •    – Collaborate with other departments to streamline check-off operations

Requirements:

Education and Qualifications:

  • – Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Social Science, or a related field from a reputable university
  • – Professional certifications in insurance or financial services (e.g., CII, AIIK) are advantageous

Experience:

  • – Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in check-off premium collection management or related role in the financial services sector
