World Vision, a leading international Christian humanitarian organization with over 70 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated Cluster Accountant to join their team in Bamba, Kenya. Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • – Manage financial data transactions and project funding requests for World Vision programs
  • – Prepare bank reconciliations and financial analyses for management decision-making
  • – Ensure timely recording of expenses and balance sheet reconciliations
  • – Consolidate compliance reports and maintain accurate financial records in World Vision’s systems

2. Budgeting and Planning

  • – Develop accurate program budgets and cash flow forecasts for World Vision projects
  • – Ensure compliance with World Vision International (WVI) and donor guidelines and standards
  • – Participate in proposal writing and budget development for new initiatives
  • – Monitor and communicate changes in Project Budget and Actuals System (PBAS)

3. Risk Management

  • – Identify and mitigate finance and administration risks for World Vision’s cluster operations
  • – Coordinate internal and external audits of World Vision’s financial processes
  • – Implement audit recommendations and ensure adherence to World Vision Kenya’s internal controls
  • – Produce and review monthly reports to address variances in program spending

4. Cash and Asset Management

  • – Maintain up-to-date cash disbursement records for World Vision projects
  • – Manage cash flow and ensure timely payments to suppliers and staff
  • – Oversee asset tagging, recording, and management in accordance with World Vision policies
  • – Monitor vehicle usage and efficiency within the cluster

5. Office Administration

  • – Ensure World Vision’s cluster office safety and OSHA compliance
  • – Coordinate facilities management and supervise outsourced services for World Vision premises
  • – Maintain and manage World Vision office equipment

6. Local Partner Capacity Building

  • – Assess potential local partners’ financial capabilities to collaborate with World Vision
  • – Build financial management capacity of partners to align with World Vision’s standards
  • – Review and ensure compliance with MOUs and funding agreements between World Vision and local partners


  • – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • – Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • – Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management and reporting, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • – Strong knowledge of accounting principles, grant management, and international development finance
  • – Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • – Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • – Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment
