Position Overview
ENGIE Energy Access is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Assessment Intern to join their Customer Finance team in Nairobi. This role offers hands-on experience in credit assessment, loan processing, and customer relationship management within Africa’s leading Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGo) solar solutions provider.
Position Details

- – Level: Junior (experience < 3 years)
Key Responsibilities
The intern will play a crucial role in the credit assessment process by:
- – Reviewing daily loan requests and evaluating customer creditworthiness
- – Verifying customer KYC documentation and financial information
- – Analyzing MPesa/bank statements to determine loan qualification
- – Conducting customer financial assessments using the NAM tool
- – Communicating assessment results to applicants and sales team
- – Processing assessments within 30-minute turnaround time
- – Managing customer assessment cases
- – Handling CRC payment crediting and account payoffs
- – Maintaining strict adherence to shift schedules
Required Qualifications
- – Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- – 1 year of customer assessment experience, preferably in microfinance
- – Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Excel
- – Excellent customer relationship management skills
- – Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (additional local language is a plus)
