AMREF HEALTH AFRICA
Amref Health Africa is hiring for the position of Evidence and Learning Manager to provide technical leadership in evidence generation, knowledge management, and learning for their Learning for Life (L4L): Building a Resilient and Responsive Health Workforce in Africa programme. This 4-year programme, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, will be implemented in Kenya, Senegal, and Zambia during the first phase.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Programme Monitoring, Evaluation, Adapting, and Learning (MEAL):
- – Lead the design and implementation of the programme’s MEAL mechanism
- – Provide MEAL technical support and capacity enhancement across implementation countries
- – Coordinate M&E of interventions, document results, and guide decision-making
- – Ensure partner adherence to MEAL standards and reporting requirements
- – Identify and mitigate programme performance gaps and potential risks
- – Develop participatory research approaches with necessary ethical approvals
Programme Adapting and Learning Strategy:
- – Develop the programme’s evidence and learning strategy, implementation plan, and data-sharing policy
- – Create mechanisms for capturing promising approaches and interventions
- – Provide thought leadership and vision for strengthening programme learning strategies
- – Develop best-practice guides, toolkits, stories of change, and impact assessments
- – Identify and commission learning opportunities (events, webinars, networks)
- – Support the development and maintenance of the programme webpage
Knowledge Management:
- – Develop and implement the Knowledge Management (KM) Strategy
- – Establish a KM structure and governance framework for consistent practices
- – Facilitate exchange and dissemination of programme information
- – Curate technical website content, information products, and other knowledge resources
Requirements:
- – Master’s degree and professional qualifications in MEAL, public health, knowledge management, or international development
- – Data analytics knowledge and experience
- – Bachelor’s degree
- – 8+ years of experience developing and implementing MEAL systems for complex multi-country programmes
- – Strategic thinking and ability to rally people towards ambitious goals
- – Strong partnership-building and networking skills
- – Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide diverse teams
- – Experience using data and evidence to drive programme performance and impact
- – Excellent communication and public speaking skills
- – Candidates with English and French language capabilities will have an added advantage
