The Finance Volunteer will be responsible for ensuring IRC systems and procedures of internal controls are followed when committing financial transactions in the IRC Financial system. This includes processing Payments, Reconciliation, and providing up-to-date data.
Key Responsibilities:
- – Payment Processing, Cash and Bank Management
- – Ensure all cash payments are fully supported and authorized as per IRC Kenya delineation chart before disbursement
- – Prepare Invoice Journal and payment journal, submit for approval, and post into the Integra system
- – Manage Integra data entry for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and correct financial dimensions
- – Prepare taxation schedule for per-diem paid to staff monthly and submit for review and approval
- – Monitor and track vendor invoices, ensuring 3-way match before processing
- – Prepare Journal for all cash received or deposited, submit for approval
- – Ensure timely settlement of vendor payments
- – Maintain organized filing system for invoice and payment journals
- – Support during audits by retrieving requested documents
- – Carry out finance officer duties in the absence of the finance assistant
- – Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
- – Minimum CPA II qualification or University degree
- – Knowledge of Excel and ERP systems (an added advantage)
- – Working knowledge of accounting software like Microsoft 365 (a plus)
- – Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be well-organized
- – High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
- – Strong communication skills
- – Adaptable and flexible to take on new tasks and assignments
