Fixed Assets and GL Reporting Accountant
This position will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of fixed assets accounting, from capital expenditure tracking to asset retirement, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The successful candidate will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting business decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Expenditure Management:
- – Ensure seamless flow and execution of Capex tracking, deployment, and site transfers
- – Coordinate with Supply Chain Management, Networks, and Accounts Centre of Excellence on SRN activities
- – Track sites on air, perform site-wise analysis, and ensure completeness of capitalized assets
- – Drive adherence to PTC process including recognition criteria for fixed assets, capitalization, impairment, depreciation, and amortization
Fixed Assets Accounting:
- – Ensure timely, complete, and accurate capitalization of assets and account for depreciation and amortization
- – Maintain accurate and complete accounting for fixed assets, duty, and capital work in progress as per financial guidelines
- – Review capex item codes and perform CWIP CL analysis
- – End-to-end management of Airtel Money Capital work in progress to final capitalization in the Fixed Assets Register
Asset Lifecycle Management:
- – Facilitate sale of assets both to inter-company entities and scrap dealers
- – Process invoicing, payment, issuance, or retirement from books
- – Ensure timely and accurate Capital Work In Progress clearing and provisioning
- – Maintain full adherence to relevant Fixed Assets accounting guidelines, standards, and procedures
Compliance and Reconciliation:
- – Drive reconciliations of Fixed Assets and clearance of reconciling items
- – Process invoice and credit note approvals
- – Coordinate Physical Verification Exercise of all company assets and reconciliation to General Ledger/Fixed Assets Register
- – Perform monthly warehouse visits to review compliance status to procedures and processes
- – Ensure adherence to SRN process with all necessary approvals
- – Verify proper implementation of warehouse/GRN processes including gate process, inspection, and posting of Goods Received Notes
Reporting and Audit Support:
- – Prepare timely audit schedules and respond effectively to audit queries
- – Provide end-to-end oversight from purchase to capitalization process with proper documentation
- – Coordinate fixed assets verification exercise for all asset categories
- – Reconcile to GL and sub-ledgers and follow up to ensure reconciliation entries are recorded in a timely manner
Qualifications and Requirements
- – Business-related degree with ACCA/CPA/CFA certification
– Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG or Telecommunications industries
– Demonstrated experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative analytical reviews on financial statement items
– Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
– Advanced problem-solving capabilities
– Excellent communication and presentation skills
– Effective interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
