The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is seeking talented young professionals to join its team as interns. ILRI works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe, and sustainable use of livestock.
As an ILRI intern, you will have the opportunity to connect theory to practice and nurture your passion for livestock agriculture. Internships at ILRI are short-term academic training programs, usually lasting 3 months or less, but can be up to 6 months in length.
Internship Duties and Responsibilities:
- – Work five days per week under the supervision and mentorship of an ILRI staff member in the assigned department or program
- – Contribute to ILRI’s research and development areas, which span East, South, and Southeast Asia, as well as Central, East, Southern, and West Africa
- – Participate in capacity development activities that cut across all of ILRI’s research and development initiatives
Internship Requirements:
- – Be enrolled in an undergraduate university degree program, with at least one full semester remaining until completion
- – Through strategic partnerships, ILRI also provides internship opportunities to students enrolled in diploma and certificate programs, as well as senior high school students
- – Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- – Proficient in English
Terms of Appointment:
- – ILRI offers a stipend to cover living expenses as well as insurance for the duration of the internship
