About the Role:
The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Management Unit, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of various conservation and forestry initiatives. This position offers a unique blend of administrative and project management responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about environmental conservation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Support and Coordination:
- – Assist the Project Management Unit in executing and coordinating project activities
- – Provide administrative, logistical, and coordination support to facilitate timely completion of tasks and milestones
- – Monitor project timelines and deliverables, providing regular updates to the Project Manager
2. Meeting and Event Management:
- – Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take detailed minutes
- – Organize project events, workshops, and training sessions
- – Coordinate travel arrangements for project team members, including preparing itineraries
3. Documentation and Communication:
- – Maintain and update project documentation and records, ensuring their security
- – Manage correspondence and communication with stakeholders
- – Assist in the preparation and distribution of project reports
- – Liaise with team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration
4. Administrative Duties:
- – Attend to visitors/clients and handle customer inquiries and complaints
- – Manage office petty cash
- – Promote public values and principles in all interactions
Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
- – Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Business Administration, Project Management, Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism Management, or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution
Experience:
- – Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a related position
Technical Skills:
- – Proficiency in computer applications, evidenced by a certificate from a recognized institution
Personal Attributes:
- – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- – Excellent presentation and communication abilities (both verbal and written)
- – Exceptional interpersonal skills
- – Outstanding organizational and time management capabilities
- – Ability to work effectively in a team environment
