World Vision, a global humanitarian organization with over 70 years of experience, is hiring for a WASH Knowledge Management, Capability and Communications Advisor. This role is open to multiple locations globally and will be part of a team of 34,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries to transform vulnerable children’s lives.
Position Overview:
The WASH Knowledge Management, Capability and Communications Advisor will optimize WASH capability and knowledge management across World Vision. This role will enable WASH staff and related teams to learn, grow, and deliver quality WASH programming that impacts the most vulnerable children and furthers sector strategy goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- – Manage and advise the World Vision WASH Community of Practice and learning networks
- – Establish knowledge management systems and processes
- – Develop and implement a WASH capability enhancement system
- – Coordinate strategic internal and external communications
- – Engage externally to explore and learn from other organizations’ WASH capabilities and knowledge management practices
Major Duties:
1. Create and Implement Knowledge Management Strategy
- – Analyze World Vision WASH sector KM needs
- – Align KM standards with global World Vision teams
- – Develop and roll out guidance documents
- – Create knowledge-sharing opportunities
- – Refine KM practices for efficient information dissemination
2. Develop and Execute Communications Strategy
- – Lead communications activities for the global World Vision WASH team
- – Highlight World Vision WASH programming achievements
- – Position World Vision as a thought leader in WASH
- – Manage World Vision WASH communication platforms
- – Support engagement in prioritized external events
3. Design and Implement Capacity-Building Strategy
- – Create World Vision WASH capability development system
- – Develop sector learning pathways and assets
- – Identify external learning opportunities
- – Establish WASH job family and standard job descriptions
- – Monitor and evaluate sector capability
Requirements:
- – Minimum 5 years of relevant Knowledge Management experience
- – At least 5 years of experience in the WASH sector
- – Minimum 3 years of experience in high-quality communications content creation
- – Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Engineering, Development Studies, Humanitarian Assistance, or related field
- – Experience with knowledge-sharing programs and platforms
- – Understanding of knowledge- and collaboration-related technologies
- – Excellent document editing, formatting, and publication skills
- – Experience in forming and nurturing virtual communities of practice
