Insurance Regulatory Authority

The Insurance Regulatory Authority is hiring a Manager Finance, responsible for developing strategies, overseeing, and participating in the implementation of the overall financial management framework including the financial risk identification and management, planning, and management of Authority’s finances in accordance with the applicable laws, standards and regulations.

Duties:

  • – Oversee the development, facilitation, coordination, and implementation of financial policies, plans, frameworks, and systems.
  • – Ensure the accuracy and integrity of institutional data needed to develop operational forecasts, financial plans, budgets, simulations, financial statements, etc.
  • – Ensure compliance with specified procedures and mechanisms for monitoring revenue and expenditure, budget management, financial accounts, records maintenance, and financial reporting.
  • – Advise and provide institutional awareness, strategic direction, oversight, and coordination of financial matters.
  • – Conduct regular analyses and evaluations to monitor organizational finances and investment performance for conformity to Authority goals and strategies.
  • – Actively monitor adherence to applicable regulatory and statutory financial requirements and applicable laws in all aspects of financial management.

Requirements:

  • – Master’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or any related numerical/statistical discipline from an accredited university.
  • – Relevant professional or academic training and financial knowledge with a focus on risk analysis, forecasting, financial planning, and management.
  • – Significant experience in an executive, officer, leadership, or equivalent role requiring demonstrating successful experience and responsibility in managing functions involving policy formulation, implementation, and planning, actuarial services, product development, distribution, advisory services, and asset liability.
  • – In-depth knowledge of finance, insurance, banking, economics.
  • – Proven track record in strategic and operational financial management oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • – Ensure standards & best practices are adhered to according to strategic financial policy & directives.
  • – Develop financial plans and strategies to improve performance and meet growth objectives including actuarial, insurance, legal, risks, financial reporting, and audit.
  • – Ensure day-to-day implementation of financial policies by assisting in plan development, analysis, and the preparation, validation of financial requirements.
  • – Manage the development, maintenance, and implementation of internal policies, business processes, financial reporting that meets requirements.
  • – Assist the development, implementation, and monitoring of performance measures, monitoring, and success indicators for the Authority.

Finance Managers are responsible to ensure the accurate management of finances/revenue to avoid deficits. They manage budgets, revenues, expenditures, assets, liabilities, cash flows, etc. Finance professionals also oversee the administration, management, and implementation of strategic planning, analysis, internal controls, risks, reporting, etc.

Your team is responsible for analyzing Authority operations, identifying areas where improvements can be made to improve financial security for the future, as well as the capacity to improve its products and services. This involves developing and improving financial procedures, processes, policies, and implementing programs to monitor and improve financial health, performance, and revenue.
The Commission closely monitors your progression and plans for career growth. This includes identifying, developing, improving, evaluating, monitoring, coaching, recruiting, screening, assessments, identifying, developing, and improving training programs.
