The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is hiring a Medical Assistant for their Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Kakuma, Kenya. This role supports Health Assessment Programs and applicant processing under the supervision of the Head of Sub-office and Migration Health Physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- – Provide information on health assessments to migrants
- – Register migrants in IOM database and schedule medical appointments
- – Prepare master lists for health assessment processing
- – Maintain daily statistics and update records
- – Perform data processing activities including registration, identity checks, and bio-data entry
- – Manage medical examination forms, x-rays, and other documents
- – Prepare and package medical files for mobile health assessment missions
- – Transmit completed medical forms and documents to partners
- – File incoming/outgoing communications related to IOM medical issues
- – Process proof of payments and submit to Administrative/Finance Assistant
Requirements:
- – University Degree with 2 years relevant experience; or Secondary School Diploma with 4 years relevant experience
- – Certificate in IT/Data entry is advantageous
- – Experience in computer data entry or call center operations, preferably in a medical setting
- – Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute
- – High computer literacy in Windows and MS Office
- – Strong teamwork and communication skills
- – Ability to deliver quality results and manage time efficiently
- – Willingness to learn and share knowledge
- – Accountability and attention to detail
- – Adaptability and empathy in cross-cultural settings
