The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is hiring a dedicated Receptionist to join their prestigious research organization. This front office position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of Kenya’s leading health research institution while providing essential administrative support in a dynamic healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for research participants, visitors, and staff, requiring exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in a research-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities of the KEMRI Receptionist
- – Provide a welcoming, professional greeting to all research participants, visitors, and staff
- – Manage comprehensive front desk operations including phone systems, appointment scheduling, and handling general inquiries
- – Register new study participants and maintain accurate records within the participant database
- – Work collaboratively with clinical and research teams to support smooth clinic operations
- – Share information about available clinic services, including family planning and PrEP services
- – Ensure strict confidentiality of all participant information in accordance with research ethics guidelines and institutional policies
Requirements for the Receptionist Position
- – Diploma in Front Office Management or equivalent qualification
- – Additional certification in office administration or a related field
- – Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse populations
- – Demonstrated organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- – Proficiency with computer systems and relevant software applications
- – Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive healthcare information
- – Basic knowledge of HIV prevention strategies, including oral PrEP (advantage)
- – Friendly, empathetic demeanor with a patient-centered approach to service
- – Ability to thrive in a fast-paced research environment
