The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a dedicated Senior Coordinator for Program Implementation to join their team in Kenya. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on humanitarian and development efforts in the region.

Position Overview:

The Senior Coordinator for Program Implementation will work closely with the Deputy Director of Programs to implement high-quality, innovative programs across IRC’s operations in Kenya. This role focuses on driving program and strategy implementation, enhancing program integration, and expanding IRC’s impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Implementation

  •    – Oversee and mentor Program Coordinators
  •    – Ensure effective grant management and adherence to donor policies
  •    – Monitor program progress and budget expenditure
  •    – Facilitate program documentation and learning
  •    – Lead strategic work-plan development
  •    – Support emergency response efforts

2. Business Development

  •    – Lead proposal development and review
  •    – Engage with key stakeholders and donors

3. Partnerships

  •    – Contribute to achieving partnership goals
  •    – Foster strategic partnerships with local organizations

4. Representation and Advocacy

  •    – Maintain relationships with stakeholders
  •    – Assist in organizing donor visits

5. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL)

  •    – Support data quality audits and assessments
  •    – Enhance use of MEAL-related technology

6. Staff Management and Development

  •    – Coach and mentor direct reports
  •    – Promote staff care and well-being
  •    – Champion safeguarding policies

Requirements:

  • – Master’s degree in international development or related field
  • – Minimum 7 years of program management experience
  • – 5+ years in humanitarian and development work
  • – Experience in relevant technical areas (health, nutrition, WASH)
  • – Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • – Fluency in English with superior writing and budget skills
  • – Experience working with NGOs is advantageous
