Job Overview

Amref Health Africa is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Officer to manage the end-to-end recruitment process, partnering with hiring managers to select top-quality candidates across all levels.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Stakeholder Management

  • – Execute talent acquisition strategy aligned with organizational needs
  • – Conduct position briefings with hiring managers
  • – Forecast hiring needs and create diversity sourcing strategies
  • – Build relationships with hiring managers and HR partners

Candidate Sourcing & Screening

  • – Develop diverse sourcing pools and strategies
  • – Source candidates on platforms like LinkedIn and DevEx
  • – Create job postings and advertisements
  • – Conduct effective screening and behavioral interviews
  • – Manage candidate relationships throughout the process
  • – Negotiate offers within policy limits

Recruitment Process Management

  • – Utilize recruitment systems efficiently
  • – Prepare monthly recruitment reports and track time-to-fill metrics
  • – Identify and implement process improvements
  • – Oversee HRIS and SharePoint enhancements related to recruitment

Staff Onboarding

  • – Coordinate with HR for new hire orientation
  • – Oversee end-to-end onboarding process

Project Initiatives

  • – Lead special projects to improve recruitment processes and candidate experience


Education and Experience

  • – Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • – 5-7 years of experience in high-volume, fast-paced recruiting
  • – Expertise in full-cycle recruiting and various sourcing techniques
  • – Experience in international workforce recruitment, especially in Africa
  • – Targeted Selection certification or behavioral interviewing training

Skills and Competencies

  • – Self-starter with strong relationship-building skills
  • – Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • – Ability to handle complex recruitment scenarios
  • – Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • – Data analysis and reporting skills for recruitment metrics
  • – Understanding of Amref’s values and culture
  • – Proficiency in a second language, preferably French
