Project Officer (NICHE Nutrition Project) at World Vision

UNICEF is looking to hire a qualified Project Officer to join their NICHE (Nutrition in Children’s Early Years) project team. The NICHE project aims to improve nutrition outcomes for children under 5 years of age in the target regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

– Facilitate the effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the NICHE project activities
– Coordinate with government counterparts, partners, and other stakeholders for project delivery
– Support capacity building initiatives related to nutrition interventions
– Document lessons learned and best practices from project implementation

Technical Support

– Provide technical guidance to implementing partners on nutrition programs
– Contribute to developing strategies, action plans and budgets for nutrition interventions
– Assist in designing and implementing behavior change communication strategies
– Support supply planning, forecasting and monitoring of nutrition commodities

Monitoring and Reporting

– Monitor and report on project performance using established indicators
– Analyze bottlenecks and implementation constraints, proposing solutions
– Prepare donor and management reports as required
– Document case studies and success stories from the project

Partnership and Coordination

– Establish partnerships and maintain collaboration with government, NGOs, UN agencies and donors
– Coordinate with stakeholders for joint planning, implementation and review
– Participate in relevant nutrition coordination mechanisms and working groups

Qualifications and Experience

– University degree in nutrition, public health, social sciences or related field
– Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in nutrition/public health programs
– Knowledge of nutrition policies, strategies and best practices
– Experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting
– Excellent analytical, communication and documentation skills
– Proficiency in English and local languages
– Prior UN or NGO experience is an asset
