Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO) is hiring a Marketing Officer to join their impactful team in Nairobi, Kenya. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to SHOFCO’s mission of unlocking the potential of urban slum dwellers across Kenya.
Job Overview:
The Marketing Officer will report to the Head of Operations and be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, conducting market research, and supporting business development initiatives for SHOFCO’s SACCO (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute marketing campaigns within budget limits
2. Recruit new SACCO members and reactivate dormant accounts
3. Market SACCO products and services to members, customers, and prospects
4. Conduct market research and competitor analysis
5. Organize events and presentations for member education and recruitment
6. Manage social media pages and online interactions
7. Achieve set targets for alternative banking channels
8. Prepare monthly reports and provide insights for decision-making
Requirements:
- – Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Commerce, or Business Management (Marketing bias preferred)
- – 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a financial institution
- – Strong market intelligence and business development skills
- – Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- – Proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint
- – Creative and innovative mindset
- – Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- – Good understanding of SACCO policies, systems, and procedures
