Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with:
Teaching and Development
- – Conducting engaging classroom instruction
- – Designing and implementing age-appropriate play/learning activities
- – Facilitating holistic child development (emotional, aesthetic, spiritual, moral, social, mental, and physical)
- – Creating opportunities for hands-on learning and creative exploration
Educational Planning and Administration
- – Preparing comprehensive lesson plans and schemes of work
- – Developing engaging learning materials
- – Maintaining accurate progress records and health documentation
- – Creating daily activity programs
Student Support
- – Providing guidance and counseling to young learners
- – Serving as a positive role model
- – Ensuring student safety and security
- – Supporting development of pre-writing, pre-reading, and numerical skills
- – Encouraging self-expression and creativity
Qualification Requirements
Educational Requirements (Any ONE of the following combinations):
- 1. Option A:
– Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education from a recognized institution
– KCSE minimum grade C+ (Plus) or equivalent - 2. Option B:
– KCSE minimum grade C (Plain)
– Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education (KNEC) - 3. Option C:
– KCSE minimum grade D+ (Plus)
– Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education
– Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education
Additional Requirements
- – Teachers Service Commission registration
- – Computer applications certification
- – Valid National Police Service Certificate of Good Conduct
- – Current medical clearance from a government health facility
