The County Policing Authority (CPA) of Mombasa County serves as a crucial bridge between law enforcement and the community. Established under the National Police Service Act, the CPA works to enhance transparency, accountability, and public participation in policing services.
Position Overview:
The CPA is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Non-State Members representing various community sectors. These positions offer unique opportunities to shape local policing policies and improve community safety.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy and Performance:
- – Develop and propose police performance priorities
- – Set operational targets for police services
- – Monitor implementation of policing strategies
- – Evaluate effectiveness of police initiatives
2. Community Oversight:
- – Monitor and analyze crime trends
- – Provide public oversight of police operations
- – Collect and review community feedback
- – Ensure police accountability to residents
3. Stakeholder Management:
- – Review reports from Community Policing Forums
- – Engage with various community groups
- – Facilitate public participation in policing matters
- – Build relationships between police and community
4. Compliance and Reporting:
- – Ensure adherence to national policing standards
- – Prepare regular reports for key stakeholders:
- – Inspector-General
- – Cabinet Secretary
- – County Assembly
- – Monitor police budget utilization
5. Special Focus Areas:
- – Protect interests of vulnerable groups
- – Oversee women and children’s safety initiatives
- – Promote inclusive policing practices
- – Address community-specific concerns
Required Qualifications:
- – Minimum three years continuous residency or employment in Mombasa County
- – Proven moral character and integrity
- – Clean criminal record and sound mind
- – No history of bankruptcy
- – No constitutional violations
- – Active membership/leadership in relevant sector (must be documented)
